Collection Notes: Draw blood in a pre-chilled lavender-top tube and keep tube chilled. Centrifuge, aliquot, and freeze immediately. Transport frozen. Thawed specimens will be rejected.
Clinical Utility: Antidiuretic hormone (ADH or AVP) regulates water reabsorption in the kidney, and serves to reduce diuresis and increase blood volume and pressure. AHD is also known as human arginine vasopressin.
